Minutes of a committee meeting, held at Haworth Old Hall, Sun Street, Haworth, West Yorkshire, on Thursday 20th June 2013 at 19:30

Present: Adam Sargant, Jim Pickles, Craig Melia, Julie Atkins, Kevin Campbell-Wright. Apologies for absence: Sian Sargant.

The minutes of the May meeting were read and duly approved.

There were no Matters Arising that would not be covered by the agenda.

Banking:

Proposed – Kevin Campbell-Wright, Seconded – Julie Atkins that The Co-operative Bank be adopted as the Worth Valley Storytelling Guild’s Bankers. For 4, Against 1. It was passed by a majority that The Co-operative Bank becomes the Worth Valley Storytelling Guild’s bankers.

Proposed – Adam Sargant, Seconded – Kevin Campbell-Wright that Julie Atkins becomes a signatory on the Bank Account. For 5, Against 0. It was resolved that Julie Atkins becomes a signatory on the Bank Account.

Proposed – Adam Sargant, Seconded – Craig Melia that Kevin Campbell-Wright becomes a signatory on the Bank Account. For 5, Against 0. It was resolved that Kevin Campbell-Wright becomes a signatory on the Bank Account.

Proposed – Adam Sargant, Seconded – Julie Atkins that any two from the above signatories to the Bank Account should sign cheques drawn against the Bank Account. For 5, Against 0. It was resolved that any two from the above signatories to the Bank Account should sign cheques drawn against the Bank Account.

KIVCA:

It was proposed and generally agreed that the Worth Valley Storytelling Guild becomes a member of KIVCA.

Child Protection Policy:

It was proposed and generally agreed that members of the Worth Valley Storytelling Guild should seek all necessary child protection certification through KIVCA.

Kevin Campbell-Wright offered to write a basic Child Protection Policy.

Chairman’s business:

The chairman advised that he had led a workshop on “Storytelling as a Spiritual Art” for a “New Age” group. He also considered that he now had enough interest to do chargeable workshops for the “Guild”.

Secretary’s business:

The secretary reported that there was now a need for a basic “How to set up a storytelling group” page on the “Guild’s” website, as he had received enquiries about this.

Treasurer’s Business:

The Treasurer had no other business.

Marketing, web and branding:

There was a general discussion on the development of the website. Craig melia has an audio project for the website.

More on the happenings at the Haworth Storytelling Circle to be put in a “blog” on the website.

Events:

International Earth Day, which falls within the 100 day festival linked to Le Grand Depart (Tour de France) was favoured for a local “storytelling day”.
